X-Y Group (Indian Air Force):

- Y Group: The Y Group comprises non-technical trades. Personnel in the Y Group perform various support roles, including administration, logistics, accounts, and medical assistance, among others.

What is the Process of Examination / Selection in X Y Trades of Indian Air Force in 2024 ?
Phase I: Online Test (For Both Group X and Group Y Trades)
This is the first step in the selection process, and it involves an online test. The online test is in both Hindi and English and consists of the following:
Group X Online Test Pattern:
- Subjects: English, Physics, and Mathematics (as per 10+2 CBSE Pattern).
- Time: 60 minutes.
- Total Questions: 70 (English – 20, Mathematics – 25, Physics – 25).
- Scoring: You get 1 mark for every correct answer, no marks for unanswered questions, and a penalty of -0.25 for each wrong answer.
- Note: Candidates need to pass this test separately.
Group Y Online Test Pattern:
- Subjects: English, Reasoning, Aptitude, and General Awareness (RAGA).
- Time: 45 minutes.
- Total Questions: 50 (English – 20, RAGA – 30).
- Scoring: 1 mark for each correct answer, no marks for unanswered questions, and a -0.25 penalty for each wrong answer.
- Note: This test is also separate from Group X.
Group X and Y Online Test Pattern:
- Subjects: English, Physics, Mathematics, Reasoning, Aptitude, and General Awareness (RAGA).
- Time: 85 minutes.
- Scoring: Similar to the individual tests.
Phase II: Test at Airmen Selection Center
Candidates who pass Phase I proceed to this phase, which includes:
- Verification of Eligibility: The Airmen Selection Center checks all your documents.
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT): This involves a 1.6Km run to be completed in 6 minutes 30 seconds, along with push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.
- Adaptability Test (AT – 1): This is a written test to assess your suitability for the Indian Air Force.
- Adaptability Test (AT – 2): Another written test to assess suitability for military conditions.
Phase III: Medical Examination
The final phase involves a medical examination conducted at a designated Medical Boarding Center (MBC) on a specified date.

Indian Air Force Group X & Y Exam Pattern in 2024
The marking scheme of the IAF Group X & Y exam 2024 is that every correct answer awards 1 mark and every wrong answer deducts 0.25 mark. There won’t be any mark deduction for unattempted questions. They can check the Indian Air Force exam pattern for Group X, Group Y, and Group X Y 2024 exam.
